The Law of Attraction was popularised by the film and book ‘The Secret’ in 2006, however knowledge of this principle has been around for thousands of years.

The problem is, many so called ‘gurus’ have repackaged the idea in an attempt to personalise it and sell it as their own unique formula. They have overcomplicated something which should be very simple.

Here are the 4 steps you need to start using the Law of Attraction:

 

1. DECIDE EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT

In his book Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill states that the first step to riches is a definite burning desire. Make sure whatever it is that you want to practise the law of attraction on is something you have an intense desire and passion for. Think of your emotions as your magnetic power. The stronger your emotions are towards that which you intend to attract, the stronger your magnetic field.

The word definite implies that you need to be specific in what you want. Don’t just say “I want to make more money”, this could mean a 1% pay-rise. Define exactly what you want to achieve, for example “I want to earn $10,000 a month doing something I love”. Write down your goals and read them every day.

 

2. VISUALIZATION

Regularly visualize yourself and your life as if you have achieved all your goals. Include as many of the senses and details as you can. What does it look like? What does it feel like? What can you hear? Use your imagination and play around with different scenarios.

3. TAKE ACTION

This is the step that is often overlooked. You cannot keep visualizing that new Ferrari and then sit in front of the TV waiting for it to show up. You have already practised being the person you want to be by visualizing it so now it’s time to get off your ass and do whatever you feel you need to do to actually achieve it!

When you take action you reinforce your belief that you will achieve whatever it is that you are working towards. As you express your belief in the form of action you allow the law of attraction to work with you. This is the point where people start experiencing “coincidences” and “luck”.

 

4. GRATITUDE

Take the time each day to acknowledge your progress and to be grateful for all that you have. The more you are grateful, the more things you attract to be grateful for. Make a habit of finding something to be appreciate in every situation. What can you be grateful for in your life right now?
