Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 6 Rules Of Success

Dig deep down and ask yourself, who do you want to be? Not WHAT but WHO?

You have to figure out for yourself who you want to be. Don’t accept mediocrity or what other people expect of you. What makes you happy? Do you have a burning desire to be something greater? Decide who you want to be and go for it. Trust yourself no matter what anyone else thinks.

It is impossible to be a maverick or a true original if you’re too well behaved and don’t want to break the rules. You have to think outside the box, that’s what I believe. After all, what’s the point of being on this earth if all you want to do is be liked by everyone and avoid trouble?

Never accept any pre-conceived rules or limitations on what is possible. When someone tells you it’s impossible just remember, that is their rule not yours. If you want it bad enough you will find a way.

You can’t be paralysed by fear of failure because you will never push yourself. You keep pushing because you believe in yourself and in your vision and you know that it is the right thing to do and success will come, so don’t be afraid to fail.

You have to create a vision that is worth failing for. If you are passionate enough about it you will take the risk of failing because you know you will not stop until you succeed. You can only fail if you give up.

How many times have you heard you can’t do this or you can’t do that or it’s never been done before.I heard this all the time. As a matter of fact, I love it when someone says that no-one has ever done it before because then when I do it, it means I am the first one who has done it.

When you are aiming for greatness and achieving extraordinary things in life it is only natural that people will tell you it can’t be done. Most people don’t actually believe these things are possible for them and so they project their own limitations on you. Don’t listen to the naysayers, listen to yourself and affirm that you can.

You never want to fail because you didn’t work hard enough.

To achieve above average results you must have an above average work ethic. Many people confuse working with keeping busy. You must be honest with yourself as to what work needs to be done to achieve your goals. When Muhammed Ali was asked how many sit ups he does he replied “I only start counting when it starts hurting because they’re the only ones that count”. He was honest with himself and understood what was necessary to be a champion.

Whatever path you take in your life, you must always find time to give something back.

We all have the ability to better the lives of others. Learn to give more. You will not feel truly fulfilled until you have contributed to the world in a meaningful way. What will you be remembered for when you die? What legacy will you leave behind?
